In Term 2 of this year we are piloting Kahukura in 3 Christchurch schools – Somerfield Primary (87 Students), Northcote Primary (44 students) and Kaiapoi North School (27 students). Feedback from one school is pasted below:

Our school is excited to be participating in the Kahukura pilot programme. We believe the programme links directly to our school learning model of inquiry learning, use of ICT , development of thinking and information literacy skills and our bicultural component where students participate in te reo and tikanga. The programme also promotes independence and allows students to find our more about the area, its peoples and share this learning with their whanau. – Denise Torrey, Principal of Somerfield School

Graduation ceremonies for these schools will occur in term 3, 2008.
